Tipper Van FAQs
What is a tipper van?
A tipper van is a specialised vehicle designed for transporting and unloading bulk materials such as gravel, sand, or construction debris. It features a hydraulic tipping mechanism that allows the cargo bed to be raised and tipped, facilitating quick and efficient unloading at various job sites. Tipper vans are essential for industries like construction, landscaping, and waste management, offering enhanced productivity by enabling rapid disposal or distribution of materials. They are valued for their robust build, manoeuvrability, and utility in heavy-duty tasks.
How does a tipper van differ from a dropside van?
Dropside vans are designed with removable or hinged sides and a flat cargo bed, enabling convenient loading and unloading of various goods. In contrast, tipper vans feature a hydraulic system that raises and tilts the entire cargo bed, facilitating efficient dumping of materials such as gravel or sand, which is particularly useful for targeted unloading. Unlike tipper vans, dropside vans do not have the capability to tilt their cargo beds. Moreover, for those prioritising maximum payload capacity, dropside vans typically offer higher payloads compared to tipper vans.
What are the most popular tipper vans to lease?
Some of the most popular tipper vans to lease include the Ford Transit Tipper, Volkswagen Crafter Tipper and Peugeot Boxer Tipper. They are widely used in construction, landscaping, and logistics industries due to their ability to enhance productivity by swiftly unloading bulk materials at job sites.
How long will it take to deliver the tipper van?
If a tipper is in stock, it's typically available for delivery within 2-4 weeks (approx.) from order. The statutory cooling off period stated by the finance company (usually 14 working days) must expire before delivery of a vehicle can take place. Also, delivery dates are subject to change by the manufacturer and on occasion, delays may occur. If the tipper van you want isn’t in stock it will be a factory order so these delivery times can vary but we’ll keep you updated of the vehicle’s progress regularly. We require all of the necessary documentation in place before delivery of a vehicle.
Is a credit check required to lease a tipper van?
Yes, a credit check is required as part of the process. After you submit your finance application, lenders conduct a credit check which helps to determine your reliability as a borrower. In general, a credit score above 700 is regarded as a good starting point for leasing. If you have a low credit score, it’s a good idea to improve you credit score before applying for credit.
